Below are associated agencies and groups the Division of Purchasing participates in and works with.  These agencies help spread knowledge and awareness among public procurement professionals (public servants who work everyday to ensure the public purchasing process is fair and transparent), as well as assist in putting together cooperative contracts (agreements between the government and businesses that all public entities can use).

NASPO - National Association of State Procurement Officials

NASPO is a non-profit association dedicated to advancing public procurement through leadership, excellence, and integrity. It is made up of the directors of the central purchasing offices in each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia and the territories of the United States. NASPO is an organization that helps its members achieve success as public procurement leaders through promotion of best practices, education, professional development, research, and innovative procurement strategies.

Utah Chapter of NIGP

The Utah Chapter of NIGP (formally the National Institute for Governmental Procurement) provides its members with networking, continuing education and promoting certification opportunities. The objective is to promote the quality and stature of public purchasing and to advance individual professionalism through training, networking and certification. The purpose of the Chapter is to:
  • Promote ethical, efficient and cost-effective public purchasing.
  • Provide educational programs, products and services.
  • Provide a location and ambiance where purchasing professionals can share ideas.
  • Facilitate the conduct of purchasing activities by public agencies.

UPAC - Utah Procurement Advisory Council

The Utah Procurement Advisory Council has as its goal the increase of voluntary cooperative group contracting among the State of Utah and its institutions of higher education.
